His engined hands

imagine

animals;

out of the trunks

they all come:

birds, dogs, cats.

Totems from trees;

snakes and shells,

celtic crosses,

made-up beasts,

foliage.

Unsubtle myths;

wood shavings,

beer bottles,

scaffholding.

Some people look,

others yawn,

inspect nails.
